Born out of a frustration

As technology evolves so do business models. Companies are turning to monthly subscription fees to boost margins and profits. Popular features like watching the content you already pay for on the built-in display of fitness equipment is being locked behind expensive monthly subscriptions.

Fit Mounts was created to help people save money and improve the experience using today’s fitness equipment. By creating 3d-printed mounting systems, customers can use their own smartphones, tablets (and even some laptops) while they exercise. No more restrictions on which apps you can view while you work out and more importantly no more expensive monthly fees to use the apps you already pay for or access for free.

Our story

Fit Mounts is co-founded by myself and my 14 year old son Andrew. It all started with my son’s curiosity of creating things. After the purchase of a 3D printer in 2023 and a 3d CAD modeling class in Robotics class, he has learned to fabricate a wide variety of fun and useful products around our home.

A recent treadmill purchase in the Winter of 2024 led to frustration when I realized that viewing Netflix or Amazon Prime videos on the large screen built into the treadmill required a $40/a month fee. Not only was that price rediculous the fee only gave access to a small handful of apps.

Thinking back to our previous old-school treadmill, there was a built-in ledge/shelf to place a book, tablet or other device. We’d often place our iPad there and watch videos while we got our daily exercise. Unfortunately with our purchase this fall there was no such place to put a phone or tablet… so Andrew got to work solving the problem with by making a variety of protoypes and having me test them out.

It’s important to make note that Fit Mounts are individual made-on-demand custom 3d printed products. Our 3d printer spends anywhere from 6-10 hours on each pair of Fit Mounts. These are not imported injection molded parts from overseas, there may be tiny imperfections that will not affect the performance or longevity of the product. Each item is produced as the order comes in and ships typically the next day (Monday-Friday).

Ultimately we hope you enjoy your Fit Mounts and once again your fitness equipment. In the process we also hope to save a lot of money by not having to be forced into monthly subscription fees so you can enjoy the content you already have access to.
